Roman tomb

Found in 2005 together with another hundred or so tombs in the Roman necropolis in Cascina Preti. It was transported to the gardens of the Town Hall and put on public display in 2006. The tomb dates back to the 3rd century AD and is considered unique in all of Northern Italy in terms of dimensions and decoration. The work was done with alternate layers of rock and brick. Inside the tombs many artifacts were found that were part of the grave goods and these are in the care of the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage.
