Church of Santa Maria Nuova and Chapel of the Beata Vergine (Madonna del Pilastrello)

The most important historical building in Vimodrone in terms of artistic significance is the Chapel of the Beata Vergine, a 15th century building attributed to Giangiacomo Dolcebuono, leaning against the facade of the 16th century oratory of Santa Maria Nuova. Inside the oratory there are frescoes which can be attributed to Bernardino Luini. Also known as “Madonna del Pilastrello”, from the name of the locality “Pilastrello” which is called after the milestone marking the sixth mile on the Roman road from Milan.
