Cern.2

In 1776 the Archduke Ferdinand of Habsburg tried to purchase it but negotiations with Count Giacinto Alari fell through and the Archiduke had to console himself by building Villa Reale in Monza. This imposing historic villa is of enormous architectural significance and is certainly the finest in Cernusco. Designed by the architect Giovanni Ruggeri in 1703, it was originally situated on a long flat avenue that continued on the other side of the Naviglio. It is significant for the frescoes on the ground floor and upper floor.
