Cascina Prato Ronco
The farm is laid out as a typical closed farmyard or corte with irrigation channels on two sides. It consists of the farmhouse, a farmbuilding with two porticos, stables and a portico for rabbit hutches. The vertical supports consist of plastered walls and solid brick pillars. It is possible to see that the brick is solid as the plaster is missing in places, revealing the underlying structure. The horizontal support is of various kinds: single and double joist timber floors, in some cases painted; flat ceilings, soffits made of plasterboard and wood: vaults made of iron and brick. The roofs use a system of wooden trusses and wall beams. The stairways are all indoor with the exception of one which leads to the upper storey of one of the farm buildings.
