Church of San Vittore Martire

The Prevostal Parish of Casorate Primo already existed in the 5th- 6th century and was dedicated to San Vittore who was martyred beyond the Vercellina Gate between the 3rd and 4th century by Emperor Maximian and buried in the Basilica of Sant’Ambrogio. After Sant’Ambrogio, this Milanese church had a major role in the spread of Christianity. This was the origin of the Prevostal Parish of Casorate Primo, the first church in the area which grew over the centuries in the neighbouring villages which in turn became parishes themselves under the jurisdiction of Casorate.
