Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli
This building is the external church of the convent of Santa Maria and mass was celebrated here every Sunday and feastday. Behind the altar there is the “inner” church reserved for the nuns. The church was rebuilt with donations from those nuns who came from wealthy families in the area. The building has maintained its original appearance. It has two major paintings on canvas: above the altar, the Madonna of the Angels from the first half of the 16th century attributed to the School of Procaccini and in the west transept, the Crucifixion of Saint Peter by a Swiss painter named Storer.
