Cotton Mill

The entrance to the Crespi cotton mill is an iconic image. Practically a cathedral to work or industry, where the chimney, administration buildings and wrought iron gate combine in a superb architectural composition which has come to symbolise industrial architecture at the turn of the 19th century. The Crespi factory is on a single storey and is notable for its decoration in terracotta and brick. Row after of row of sheds line the main road and give a marvellous sense of perspective.
