Villa Scotti

Rob.7

Villa Scotti is now the Town Hall and differs from many other villas in the area in that it was always intended to be a year-round residence rather than a summer villa. It was built in the early 19th century and its owners, the Scotti family, renowned beekeepers, lived there until the end of the 1950s when it became Robecco Town Hall. The building is horseshoe-shaped with the arms slightly irregular as they extend midway across the courtyard and the architectural lines and decoration are clearly in the style of the early 19th century. The facade is divided into three with two sober surfaces at the sides to contrast with the middle section which is divided vertically by half columns with three entrance doorways and a fake bannister at the top. The ground floor once served to welcome guests in the hallway while to the sides were storerooms for the honey on the right and living quarters for the servants on the left.
